Heute war es soweit. Der erste Schnee in Mainz. Das ist ja leider eine Seltenheit geworden - umso größer war die Freude.
Today we got the first snow. It doesnt happen very often in Mainz so it is for sure we were all happy and the kids excited about it.

Der Hof sah wunderschön aus und alles wurde sehr schnell weiß. Traumhaft und genau richtig - so kurz vor Weihnachten.
The backyard looked so beautiful and it came down pretty good. It was just right - a few days before christmas.

Ein Becher voll Schnee /a cup full of snow
So wie er es auch in Culpeper getan hat, so hat Gabriel auch hier den Schnee in die Wohnung geholt. Klara hat damit ihren Spaß und kann ihn so ganz genau unter die Lupe nehmen.
Just like Gabe did in Culpeper - he takes the snow inside the house. Klara loves it. That way she can look at it real good and explore every little bit of it.

Nachdem die Kinder sich das Schneetreiben eine Weile angesehen hatten, ging es auch raus. Gabriel und Klara gingen - gut eingepackt in den Hof und beide hatten ihre wahre Freude daran. Leider war es da schon dunkel und ich konnte keine Fotos mehr machen. Aber dennoch hatten sie Spaß und ich hoffe, dass der Schnee wenigstens das Wochenende über hält. Kalt genug ist es ja zur Zeit hier.
After the kids enjoyed watching the snow from inside it was time to go outside and have fun. Both enjoyed it and had fun out there. Unfortunately it was already dark so I wasn´t able to take any more pictures. I just hope the snow will last for a few days .. it sure is cold enough here at the moment.
