YOWELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL "Go Stallions Go!!"
Gabriel hatte seinen ersten Schultag. Wir alle waren super aufgeregt und nervoes. Besonders ich als Mutter war ueberhaupt nicht die Ruhe selbst. Ich hatte grosse Bedenken, ob er das so ohne weiteres schafft und machte mir Sorgen. ABER...alles ist gut. Gabe hat super viel Spass an der Schule hier und geht jeden Tag gerne dort hin (noch:-)).
Seine Klassenlehrerin ist super lieb und gibt sich wahnsinnig viel Muehe genau wie seine ESL Lehrerin (ESL=English as second Language = Nachhilfelehrerin).
Gabriel had his first school day. We were all really excited and nervous. Especially me, his mother wasn't calm at all:). I was really worried if he can make it and how everything will be there for him. BUT..everything is just fine. Gabe has so much fun there and he loves to leave the house in the morning. His teacher is a very nice and friendly woman and they all take their time to help Gabriel - same with his ESL teacher.

Besonders viel Spass macht Gabe das Schulbus fahren. Dieser haelt natuerlich auch direkt vor unserer Haustuer und dann ist es auch nicht ganz so weit bis zur Schule. Super finde ich hier, wie das alles organisiert ist und wie diszipliniert das ablaeuft. Der Schulbus stoppt und blinkt sozusagen ueberall, dann wird an der Seite ein Stopschild ausgefahren, welches ebenfalls blinkt. Das zeigt den Autofahrern - in beiden Richtungen - dass sie anzuhalten haben und die Kinder koennen dann ganz ungefaehrdet die Strasse ueberqueren und einsteigen. Das gleiche mittags beim heimkommen. Das ist schon eine super Sache und durchaus etwas, was es in Deutschland auch geben sollte.
Gabe loves to ride the school bus. This one stops right in front of our house and it isn't that far to school anyway. I really like the way they are organized here when it comes to that. When the school bus stops it blinks all over and a stop sign comes out at the side of the bus. At the same time all traffic has to stop until the kids are in the bus and seated. This is great and really something people should think about in Germany.
Wir hatten mittlerweile auch einen Tag der offenen Tuer in der neuen Schule. Gabe fuehrte uns ganz aufgeregt herum und wir staunten nicht schlecht, wie super dort alles eingerichtet ist. Toll. Besonders schoen war es von den beiden Lehrerinnen zu hoeren, wie zufrieden sie mit Gabriel sind und wie super er mitmacht und auch sagt und fragt, wenn er etwas nicht versteht.
They had an open house at School. Gabe showed us around and was all excited about that. We were really surprised how nice this place is and everything is set up great. We were really happy after we talked to his teachers. Both were telling us only good things about our son and how nice he is. He even asks whenever he doesn't understand something. That's great.
