Am Wochenende war es endlich mal wieder soweit. Es ging - etwas kurzfristig und spaet - ab zu Pap nach West Virginia. Duane musste Freitag arbeiten und kam erst gegen 16 Uhr zu Hause an. Wir entschieden dann relativ kurzfristig, dass wir heute noch nach West Virginia fahren wollten. Gegen halb sechs war es dann endlich soweit. Ziemlich spaet aber wir freuten uns alle auf ein schoenes erholsames Wochenende im Kreise der Familie. Gepackt war schnell und auf dem Weg halten wir in letzter Zeit immer regelmaessig an ein und dem selben Burger King:)!
This weekend we got ready to see Pap again. Duane had to work Friday and came back home around 4 pm. We made the decision to leave pretty late and at 5:30 pm we finally left Culpeper. We were all looking forward to spend some time with the family. We packed real quick and on the way we stopped at the same Burger King as we usually do:)!

Spaet - nach 22 Uhr waren wir endlich dort. Den groessten Berg schafften wir noch im Tageslicht aber die naechsten...da war es ganz schoen dunkel. Nicht einfach fuer unseren Papa, der ja fahren muss. Bei Pap war noch Licht und er staunte nicht schlecht, als sein Auto vor seinem Haus parkte. Er freute sich wirklich riesig ueber unseren Ueberraschungsbesuch, von dem er nichts wusste. Wir waren froh, endlich da zu sein. Vor allem mein Mann. Freitag morgen um 2.30 war sein Wecker angegangen und als wir endlich in Belington ankamen, war er bereits fast 20 Stunden auf den Beinen. Ein sehr harter langer und anstrengender Tag fuer ihn - und irgendwie auch fuer uns.
Late that evening - after 10 pm we arrived. The biggest mountain we were able to get over while there was still daylight but all the other little ones ... it was pretty dark then. Not easy for our Daddy who had to drive. At Pap's the light's were still on and he was pretty surprised when he saw his car getting parked in front of the house. He was happy to see us and really surprised because he didn't know we were coming over. We were happy we made it. Especially my husband. Friday morning he had to get up at 2.30 am and when we arrived in Belington he had been up for almost 20 hours. A long and hard day for him - and somehow for us too:).

Gabe und das coole Bike / Gabe and the cool bikeAuch bei unserem jetzigen Besuch erlebten wir wieder einiges. Eines der Highlights an diesem Wochenende war fuer die Maenner sicher dieses "Trike". Delbert, Duane's Schwager hat dieses Teil:) jemandem abgekauft, der angefangen hat es zusammenzubringen. Es ist ehrlich gesagt von nahem noch ein arges Schrottding aber es faehrt und ist wahnsinnig laut. Wir hatten unseren Spass und es wird noch einige Zeit dauern, bis das Teil wirklich super ausschaut. Aber ich finde, es macht auch jetzt schon was her. Gabe fand es klasse und natuerlich auch unser Daddy.

Klara mit Tante Renee / Klara and Aunt ReneeUnglaublich aber wahr...auch unsere Kleine fuhr mit. Sie sass auf Renee's Schoss und war sich ueberhaupt nicht sicher, ob sie dieses laute und schnelle Ding da mag:). Aber geweint hat sie nicht!!
Unbelievable but true..even our little one was riding it. She was sitting on Renee's lap and wasn't sure at all if she likes this loud and fast thing:). But she didn't cry so...!!

das gute Stueck von hinten ( hat einen VW Motor hab ich gesagt bekommen ) the good piece from its back ( it has a VW engine in it I was told)So bevor ich es jetzt vergesse, weil wir leider die Kamera nicht mit hatten: Gabriel hatte die Chance endlich ein ATV zu fahren. WAHNSINN. Der grosse kleine Kerl war sowas von happy. Wir haben einen alten Freund von Duane besucht und der hat ein grosses in seinem Carport stehen und das durften wir gleich mal testen. Zuerst fuhr Duane es eine Runde auf dem Hof, dann durfte Gabe hinten drauf und schliesslich selbst steuern und fahren. TOLL! LEIDER war die Kamera NICHT dabei. Aber das war sicherlich nicht das letzte mal.
Und...ich war mal in einem amerikanischen Wohnmobil. Das wuerde meinen Vater sicherlich besonders interessieren. Das Ding ist ja ne Wucht:). Und John, Duane's Freund sagt dann auch noch glatt, es sei ihm zu klein. Er, seine Frau und das Enkelkind sind die einzigen, die damit fahren:). In diesen Camper passt das meiner Eltern locker zweimal rein. Wahnsinn. Mit einem grossen Fernseher direkt ueber der Fahrerkabine, Kuehl-und Gefrierschrankkombination, grosses Bad (Nasszelle) und im hinteren Bereich ein grosses Bett, welches Mann durch eine Tuer vom vorderen Bereich und den vorderen Schlafplaetzen abgrenzen kann. Super schoen.
Tja, ihm ists zu klein:) und wir sind gespannt, was er dann fuer eines hat. DANN machen wir aber Fotos.
Before I forget it because we have no photos about it - Gabriel had the chance to ride an ATV. This little man was soooo happy. Unbelievable. We went to see a friend of Duane's and he has a big one in his carport and he wouldn't give up before we had tried it. Duane tried the first round on that parking lot there and then Gabe got behind him and they took of to a field. There - Duane let little man sit upfront and he drove that thing:). GREAT! And we DIDN'T have the camera with us. But I am pretty sure this wasn' t the last time. Then I had the chance to have a look into an american camper. WOW..that is something and would be really interesting for my dad. His camper would fit in there at least twice. Unbelievable. And then John, Duane's friend, says it's to small for him with his wife and granddaughter:). It has a big TV right above where the driver sits and a big fridge and freezer combo, a really nice bathroom and in the back it has a huge bed which you can seperate from the front through a door. Well it is to small for him so we wonder how the next thing will be:) and THEN we will take some photos ... that's for sure!
Wir hatten ein super schoenes Wochenende mit schoenem kuehleren Wetter und auch etwas Regen. Es waren einfach 2 Tage zum entspannen und erholen und durchatmen und ich hoffe, die neue Woche hier geht schnell vorbei. Gabriel's grosser Tag kommt bald und er ist schon ganz aufgeregt.
We had a really nice and wonderful weekend with nice and cooler weather and some rain. 2 days to relax and enjoy and breathe and I hope the new week will be over soon. Gabriel's big day is coming up and he is really excited about this.
