Chick-fil-A

Gabriel hatte am Montag eine "Spirit Night". Diese Treffen - von der Schule aus - finden oefter statt, aber dieses mal waren wir auch dort. Es fand dieses mal in dem Restaurant "Chick-fil-A" (ausgesprochen = Chickfilet = Haehnchenfilet) statt.
An diesem Abend ging es darum, Geld fuer die beiden geplanten Spielplaetze der Yowell Elementary School zu sammeln. Es wurde ein Gluecksrad aufgebaut und fuer jeden 50 Cent Dreh konnte man entweder ein Spielzeug, ein freies Getraenk oder eine Kleinigkeit zu essen dort gewinnen. Es wurde ganz schoen voll und das Highlight - total unerwartet - war diese geniale Kuh. Das war wirklich klasse und die Kinder hatten ihren Spass. Die Kuh ist das Maskottchen des Restaurants, denn auf ihrer Brust und Ruecken steht "Eat Mor Chikin" was bedeutet "Esst mehr Haehnchen".
Auf dem obigen Bild seht ihr uebrigens einen rotblonden Herrn im grauen T-shirt. Das ist der Konrektor der Yowell School welcher auch ein bissl Deutsch spricht.

Gabriel had one of the "Spirit Nights" Monday. The school offers those meetings once in a while at different places and this time it was at "Chick-fil-A". They were trying to collect more money for the playgrounds for the Yowell Elementary School. They had set up a Wheel of Fortune and for each spin they asked for 50 cents. You could win a small toy, a free drink or a free snack there. It got pretty busy and the highlight - absolutely unexpected - was this great cow. This was really fun for the kids. The cow is the mascot of this restaurant and on the chest it says in big letters "Eat Mor Chikin". On the photo up here you can see a young man in a gray shirt. He is the other principal of Gabe's school and he speaks a little bit German.

Natuerlich wurde dann mit der Kuh auf der Strasse noch Werbung gemacht. Wenn schon, denn schon.
