Heute war Klara's Geburtstag. Zwei Jahre ist es her seit die kleine Maus die Welt erblickte. Es ist schon wahnsinn, wie schnell die Zeit vergeht. Sie ist kein Baby mehr sondern schon ein kleines feines Maedchen. :-)
Auch wenn wir keine Familie bei uns hatten, so war es doch ein schoener Tag. Angefangen hat der Tag mit zwei kleinen Kerzchen und ein paar Geschenken von Mama, Papa und dem Bruder Gabriel.
Sie hat sich riesig ueber die Luftballons gefreut, die wir zur Deko an ihrem Stuhl befestigt hatten. Es ist einfach ein tolles Alter. Die Kinder sind mit so Kleinigkeiten wie einem Luftballon zu begeistern... mehr muss es gar nicht sein.

Today was Klara's Birthday. It's been two years already since our little one came to this world. It is amazing how time is flying. She ain't no baby no more but a little cute lady.:-) Even so our families couldn't be with us today we had a nice time together. First she got two little candles and a few presents from Mama, Daddy and her brother Gabriel. She was all happy about the balloons we had put on her chair the evening before. It is a great age I think. Little things like a balloon make her happy and that's all it takes.

Von Mama und Papa und Pap gab es Kleidung. Tshirts, einen Rock, ein paar kurze Hosen und Kleider fuer den anstehenden Sommer. Von Gabriel gab es eine CD mit Kinderliedern.

Mama and Daddy and Pap got her some clothes. T-shirts, a skirt, a few pants and dresses for the summer. Gabriel got her a CD with Kids-songs.

Meggy, Klaras Patentante, hat ihr ein Kaertchen geschickt. Mit dabei war ein kleines Pixi Buechlein sowie ein Foto von Philipp. Philipp ist Meggy's Sohn und das Foto zeigt ihn auf Klara's Geburtstagsgeschenk sitzend. Eine ganz ganz tolle Idee wie ich finde und wir haben uns riesig ueber die Karte gefreut. Vielen Dank dafuer.
Ach so - das Geschenk gibt es, wenn wir in Mainz ankommen. Ein BOBBY CAR.

Meggy, Klara's Godmother, had sent her a birthday card with a small German book and a photo of Philipp. Philipp is Meggy's son and the photo shows him sitting on Klara's present which she will get when we arrive in Mainz. It was a great idea and we loved it. Thank you very much for this. Oh - the present is a BOBBY CAR (that's how we call it in Germany) She has to sit on it and move it with her legs.

Und dieses tolle Malbuch mit Elmo und die Baby Alive Puppe gab es aus der Nachbarschaft. Heute vormittag konnte Tina doch vorbei kommen und darueber habe ich mich wirklich sehr gefreut.
Tina lebt in Warrenton, im Nachbarort also, und ist ebenfalls eine Deutsche, die aber schon eine ganz schoen lange Zeit in Amerika lebt. Sie hat mir hier schon sehr mit Tips und Tricks geholfen und ich bin ihr allein fuer ihr immer offenes Ohr sehr sehr dankbar. Ich weiss gar nicht, wie ich das ohne sie hier manchmal ausgehalten haette. Allein die Tatsache, dass ich zu jeder Tag- und Nachtzeit den Hoerer in die Hand nehmen kann und sie erreiche bedeutet mir wirklich viel. Sie ist wirklich ein Grund, der einem das Weggehen hier sehr schwer macht. Aber ich hoffe, wir bleiben in Verbindung und sehen uns wieder.

And this great coloring book with Elmo and this Baby Alive Baby Doll is from the Neighborhood. Tina was here this morning. I was really happy she was able to make it today even so I know how busy she was/is. Tina lives in Warrenton and is a German as well. She lives in the States for a long time and I am so thankful to have her in my life because I don't know how I would have survived here sometimes without her. She is a great friend. Anytime - day or night - I can pick up the phone and call her and she's always finding the time to listen. It is hard to leave her behind but I hope we will keep in touch and see each other again.
