Skyline Drive - Blue Ridge MountainsUm auf den Appalachen Pfad zu kommen mussten wir auf den Skyline Drive. Schon oft sind wir hier vorbei gefahren, da es auf unserem Weg nach West Virginia lag. Dieses mal also sollten wir tatsaechlich dort entlangfahren.
Es handelt sich hierbei um eine Strasse die ueber die Blue Ridge Mountain fuehrt und im Shenandoah National Park liegt. Sehr schoen aber wie ich fand, doch auch teuer. Denn natuerlich kostete es Geld hier herein zu kommen.
To get to the Appalachian Trail we had to get to the Skyline Drive. We drove by many many times because it is on the way to West Virginia. So this time we should actually drive in there. The Skyline Drive takes you to the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Shenandoah National Park. It was beautiful but expensive as well. Of course it costs money to get on there:-).

Leider war das Wetter ja nicht so besonders. Es war sehr stark bewoelkt und nicht an jedem Halte-/Aussichtspunkt konnte man ein Foto machen. Teilweise hingen die Wolken direkt darueber und wir fuhren schliesslich auch durch. Also sooooo dichten Nebel hatten wir wirklich schon lange nicht mehr gesehen. Ich glaube man konnte keine 10 Meter sehen.
Unfortunately the weather wasn't so good. It was cloudy and at some of the parking spots we couldn't take any pictures because the clouds were right there. We even drove through some and we haven't seen such bad fog for a long time.

Die Aussicht aenderte sich teilweise schlagartig, was ich wirklich sehr interessant fand. Besonders diese Weite hier, die sich weiter oben auf dem Berg fand war sagenhaft. Toll!!The view changed many times which I thought was very interesting. Especially this here was amazing. It was a bit higher on top of the mountain. Great!!
